Sunday Night Fever

As if things could change, as if she could lie down next to me, as if something else was possible, Sunday night seems to be the time in between dreams (and no I do not love Jack Johnson, I just thought for a moment that his songs were ok).

In the end, indeed, nothing ever changes radically, things just evolve slowly, and shits are never as right as rain. To break this Sunday pessimism, two songs that smell like glory, two rappers, because yes, most of the time, Hip Hop is your only real friend.

A lot of things have been said about Jay Z in the past week, about Blue Ivy, Beyonce, and the fact that he is to stop swearing on the M.I.C. Nevertheless no one evokes the far off days when Jay Z made decent music, like in this song from his album « Blue Print 2 » (and yes the sample is from Ennio Morricone).

Things have changed, indeed. In the rap game Curren$y is quite a rookie, a newcomer who is dreaming to step on the royal stairs to finally be the new one on the throne. Long story short, he is not alone, he manages to get very cool featurings with Jay Electronica, and Mos Def for instance like in this track from his “Pilot Talk” opus.

And yes tomorrow is the day.

Cheers.
